Urban Concepts is recognised as the Development Communication Specialists. We are first and foremost urban planners that specialise in communications. The old approach of flying under the radar, staying low and saying as little as possible simply doesn’t work. Today we are having to manage an informed and connected community. Social media platforms mean there is more information available at our fingertips than ever before. If you are not the one talking actively about your project and controlling the message, then you are leaving the door open for someone else to start a conversation which may not be what you want to be saying.
We start each project by preparing a communication plan that addresses the unique sensitivities of the project and prescribes tailored messaging to strategically position the project within the community. Once a sound communication strategy is in place, we undertake a pro-active consultation process as part of a coordinated program.
